CNN Yachts has used the occasion of the Monaco Yacht Show to provide a progress report on 68m/223ft superyacht DAY’S as well as announce two new hulls in the ICE Yachts series: a 55m/180ft and a 75m/246ft explorer yacht.
Designed in collaboration with Hot Lab, the luxury yachts have a strong family characteristic and connection to the outdoors is a vital part of the design. As a result floor-to-ceiling windows providing panoramic views and extensive outdoor living spaces are incorporated into the design features:
“These two concepts are united with the 68m already under construction by their shared family feel and characterized by tense and masculine lines, while maintaining the concept of being one with the outdoors, made possible by the presence of ample glass surfaces running full-height.” said Antonio Romano from Hot Lab.
The first hull in the ICE Yachts range, M/Y DAY’S, is being constructed in collaboration with AES Yacht and is proceeding according to schedule. Inside, her main deck and upper deck has a headroom of 2.7m/9ft. The main deck aft contains a large swimming pool while the lower deck hosts a garage that can hold both a 9m/30ft and an 8m/26ft tender and there is a spacious beach club for relaxation close to the water.
“Able to accommodate up to 12 guests, luxury yacht DAY’S contains an upper deck dedicated to the owner which contains two en-suite bathrooms, two walk-in wardrobes, a gym and massage room.”
Many interior installations and mechanisms are currently being factory testes to ensure their quality; the main current developments include:
One interior VIP cabin mock-up has been completed and being shown to the owner for approval
- Steel and aluminum construction has been completed
- 80% of grid blasting and primer painting has been completed
- Outfitting of all hot works has been completed
- All tank connection lines are completed and 50% of the plumbing has been completed
- Insulation has started
- Naiad Stabilizer is being installed
- 68m/223ft luxury yacht DAY’S
The generous internal volumes exceed 1,800 GT and the interiors use a minimalist design where natural light is a key design element, presenting the opulent materials at their finest.
Created for business as well as pleasure, the foredeck contains a helipad for ferrying passengers to and fro, while the owner’s suite has private access to the skylounge and the business meeting room.
Able to accommodate up to 12 guests, luxury yacht DAY’S contains an upper deck dedicated to the owner which contains two en-suite bathrooms, two walk-in wardrobes, a gym and massage room. On the main deck there are three spacious VIP staterooms as well as a single cabin and a supernumary cabin, all of which have en-suite bathrooms and walk-in wardrobes.
Explorer yacht DAY’s is expected to be delivered in the last quarter of 2018.
